Initial acceptance of all stakeholders as success factor for BIM implementation

DEUBIM has developed an individual BIM implementation concept (BIM objectives and BIM strategy) for the Munich airport together with AEC3. The size and resulting complexity of the Munich airport has been a key challenge aiming to consider all different interests.

With help of workshops we initially identified relevant BIM application fields and defines the BIM strategy. In a next step, we presented the findings in a bigger group including the corporate areas planning, building and operations. The initialization workshop has been used to involve all relevant corporate areas and consider their interests in the development of the BIM implementation. As a result, all stakeholders had a common understanding of BIM and its added value for the Munich airport resulting in an aligned BIM strategy to implement BIM at the Munich airport.
